We had an amazing time at Sloss Fest last week! It seems like there's always something amazing going around our home town of Birmingham. Well we've enlisted the help of our friends over at BirminghamMommy.com to make sure we keep everyone in the know on what's going on around town! See below for their list of some of the bigger events in Birmingham during August!

Birmingham Events Roundup - August 2015 | We all know the temps are warm in August, but the happenings around Birmingham are Hot! Take a look at all of the fun our city has to offer!

Saturday August 1

  • Enjoy a Roger Day Concert at the Birmingham Zoo! Birmingham’s favorite children’s Musician will perform 2 animal themed shows! This event is FREE for members and included with the purchase of a Zoo admission ticket for non-members. 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM
  • Birmingham Barons vs. Mississippi Braves at Regions Field. Game time 630 PM
  • Secret Stages in the Downtown Loft District. A two-day walking music festival where a diverse group of music enthusiasts are treated to around 60 bands performing on the stages of neighborhood establishments. Aug 1, 2015: 11 AM - 9 PM 

Sunday August 2nd -

  • Secret Stages in the Downtown Loft District. A two-day walking music festival where a diverse group of music enthusiasts are treated to around 60 bands performing on the stages of neighborhood establishments. 12 PM - 6 PM  
  • Zoo Fun Days at the Birmingham Zoo. Enjoy discounted $5 admission to the Birmingham Zoo. Special Event programming happening each day.
  • Sunday Live! At Railroad Park. A free, live event hosted by Railroad Park! Sunday LIVE will feature a live drum circle, hosted by John Scalici of Get Rhythm, live improv comedy with Extemporaneous Theater Company and live music on the plaza with DJ Slim Robb. Food, beverages, and spirits will be made available for purchase through George’s Boxcar Café and Red Clay. A photo booth will also be on-site . 3 PM - 7 PM

Thursday August 6th -

  • Art Crawl. Downtown Birmingham transforms into a walking art gallery full of artists, performers, food and fun! Art Crawl is a great way to meet local artists and performers, buy and appreciate their work, and be part of the rapidly growing art scene in Birmingham. 5 PM - 9 PM 

Saturday August 8th -

  • Kids Ultimate Fitness Challenge, held at UAB Campus Green. The Kids Ultimate Fitness Challenge is the Nations largest mobile fitness event for kids, traveling from coast-to-coast dedicated to helping keep kids healthy and active. At the Kids Ultimate Fitness Challenge, kids of all ages get the opportunity to flex their physical fitness by participating in a time-based obstacle course that includes sprinting, jump roping, wall crawls, hurdles, jumping jacks, sit ups, and tunnel crawls, before finishing off the course with a 20 ft. confidence climb and 60 meter dash to the finish. 10 AM - 6 PM

Thursday August 13th -

  • Birmingham Barons vs. Montgomery Biscuits at Regions Field. 7:05 PM. 1st game of a 5 game home stand

Friday August 14th -

  • Art on the Rocks at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Featuring the best of Birmingham culture, Art On The Rocks collaborates with local artists, downtown businesses, and breakthrough musical guests to offer a night of art, performances, giveaways, food, and drinks. Musical Guest: CLEAR PLASTIC MASKS ​7 PM - 11 PM 
  • ​Birmingham Barons vs. Montgomery Biscuits at Regions Field. 7:05 PM​. 2nd game of a 5 game home stand

Saturday August 15th -

  • Bart’s Art Cart at the Birmingham Museum of Art. A storytelling program for children ages 4-7. This month, Bart has selected Suzanne Guy and Donna Lacy’s The Music Box: The Story of Cristofori. 11 AM- 12 PM 
  • ​Birmingham Barons vs. Montgomery Biscuits at Regions Field. 6:30 PM​. 3rd game of a 5 game home stand

Sunday, August 16th -

  • Summer Film Series at the Alabama Theater. There will be a sing-along and Mighty Wurlitzer performance before the showing of The Sound of Music. 2 PM ​
  • Birmingham Barons vs. Montgomery Biscuits at Regions Field. 3:00 PM​. 4th game of a 5 game home stand

Monday August 17th -

  • Birmingham Barons vs. Montgomery Biscuits at Regions Field. 7:05 PM​.  5th game of a 5 game home stand

Friday August 28th - 

  • Sidewalk Film Festival will take place in downtown Birmingham's historic theater district. 200+ movies, parties, panels, workshops, music, food and more.
  • Birmingham Barons vs. Chattanooga Lookouts at Regions Field. 7:05 PM​.  
  • The Tailgate Challenge presented by Metlife Premier Client Group provides a fun way for football fans a chance to "warm up" for the season's kick-off while supporting The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs, a nonprofit in Homewood, Alabama. You will enjoy samples of tailgating food at every team tent during an afternoon of live music, local brews from Good People, performances by local high school bands and cheerleaders, kid-friendly fun activities, and friendly football team rivalry in a block party atmosphere. 8 PM at the Bell Center

Saturday August 29th - 

  • Birmingham Barons vs. Chattanooga Lookouts at Regions Field. 6:30 PM​.  
  • The Tailgate Challenge presented by Metlife Premier Client Group. 11 AM - 2 PM at the Bell Center

Sunday August 30th -
