The Sum of Us: David - Equipment Services Manager

Each month we visit with one of Royal Cup's stellar personnel! This month we talk with Equipment Services Manager - David.


We have a saying around Royal Cup; It is not the some of us, but the sum of us who make the difference. That being said we love to feature the different faces around Royal Cup in our monthly employee spotlight, which we call The Sum of Us. This month we talk with David, who is our Equipment Services Floor Manager based out of Birmingham, Alabama. David is an excellent example of one of our people who work hard behind the scenes taking care of the equipment based issues our clients run into. David's team quickly solves and resolves our customer's issues to ensure their equipment is working properly and efficiently! Everyone welcome David!

Tell us a little about yourself David: 

My name is David Solomon and I am the Equipment Services Floor Manager in Birmingham.  I have been with the company for 11 years.  My responsibilities include maintaining equipment and parts inventories, working directly with the field sales teams and working closely with outsourcing partners that refurbish various beverage equipment.

Tell us a little about your department:

Equipment Services ships new and rebuilt beverage equipment and parts to various markets of the company. The ability to have a proactive and efficient mindset when it comes to moving equipment and parts to keep our customers equipment operating is what we are all about. The passion our group has to get the job done right the first time sets us apart from the competition.

What is the most common question the service department receives?

How quick can we get this?  We strive on being able to provide accurate and quick turnaround on equipment/parts orders.

If you could only drink one Royal Cup coffee (or tea) for the rest of your life what would it be?

The Aztec Cold Brew!

What is your proudest accomplishment since being at Royal Cup? 

During this year’s Company Meeting’s humanitarian event (Stop Hunger Now), being a part of a team that was able to package over 130,000 meals for the Stop Hunger Now project takes the spotlight by helping so many other people who are in need.

What does Royal Cup represent to you? 

(Besides great coffee and tea) A company that has great core values and has a vision of the future, which is bright!
