It seems contradictory doesn't it? Drinking a strong cup of coffee and then laying down for a nap. Well, new scientific research shows that drinking coffee right before a quick 20 minute nap may be the key to being refreshed and energized through the rest of your day.
According to the video above, the reason the coffee and sleep work is because sleep naturally clears out the chemicals in the brain that causes you to feel drowsy; and caffeine keeps those drowsy feelings from coming back. Now the trick, according to Vox, is to drink your coffee quickly. So a frappe or espresso shot or iced coffee will probably work best. Quickly consume your coffee and lay down and close your eyes for 20 minutes. You will awaken from your coffee slumber rested and ready to tackle the rest of your day.
